SeptemberTournament:
The September tournament was held on Appalachicola out of the Breakaway Lodge. There were 18 Hawg Hunters present to fish at safe daylight. Safe daylight was around 6:05 a.m., everyone was ready and waiting, the weather was perfect for once and the water was looking good, once blast off started, boats went towards the bay, the lake and up the river hoping to get their line stretched. Some thought the boo-ray
fish had an excellent chance of being caught this tournament.
At the end of day two yours truly Rich Carnelius had the largest bag with 8 fish and 17.50 lbs.
Ken Repine did catch a nice largemouth that weighed in at 5.35 lbs on day two but unfortunately he was not in the boo-ray. His guide for the tournament was Pete Potter.
Once again it lives for another day.
The quality of the fish caught was good, there wasn't a lot of fish caught, only four limits, but still it turned out to be a fun time. Most of the fish were caught on plastics, some crank baits and flukes for the top water bite. The big fish for day one weighed in at 3.55 lbs, it made Terry Smith a happy person. Day two, Ken Repine took it hands down with a very nice 5.35 bucket mouth, both Terry and Ken were the non-boater, great job guys.
