Minutes of the Meeting:
The February 2004 meeting of the Pensacola Hawg Hunters Bass Club was brought to order at 7.00 p.m. on February 18, 2004.
The meeting was held at the Seafood Shanty on Hwy 29 and was presided over by President Brian Metcalf. There were 28 members and
1 guest present.

YOU MIGHT BE A BLUENECK IF
The opposite of a Redneck is a Blueneck, an example would be our northern cousins!
You don't have any problems pronouncing "Worcestershire sauce" correctly.
For breakfast, you would prefer potato au gratin to grits.
You would rather have your son become a lawyer than grow up to get his own TV fishing show.
You have never planned your summer vacation around a
gun-n-knife show.
You don't have at least one can of WD-40 somewhere around the house.
(Not to even mention duct tape!)
You don't have any hats in your closet that advertise feed stores.
You can do your laundry without quarters.

Old Buisness:
The Annual Banquet was a GREAT success. Thanks all around for those that helped with gift buying and reservation making. In an unintentional oversight,
the outgoing E-board was not properly acknowledged for their work in the 2003 fishing year. Mack Cramer's annual Super Bowl party was also a BIG hoot'n'nanny. Many thanks to Mack for opening his home and refrigerator to us.
New Buisness:
The club welcomes our newest member Dewayne Kimbro. We also extend a hearty hello to our only guest David Roger. He is a boater living in Pensacola. He is no stranger to club fishing. He has been a member of three clubs. Rich "Scoobie-doo" Cornelius is his sponsor. No report from Frank on the wedding reception on Saturday night at Seminole Lodge the weekend we are fishing in March.
Fred Raby had no further information on the planning of the open bass tournament in the memory of Wally. As a reminder, the proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the Leukemia Society.
February Tournament:
The February tournament was held out of Mizell's Landing on the lower end of the mighty Tensaw River. This was a one day tournament with 11 boats participating. Saturday morning brought warm temps and early overcast which quickly burned off to expose the bright sun. Due to the heavy rains up North, everybody was expecting high and muddy water. NO ONE was disappointed. When we launched the boats, the current tried it's darndest to push everybody out into the bay. Most everyone went North, but few went too far. The water was in the woods and really moving on the Main river. Did I mention the wind was blowing 90 mph. (well maybe 10-15, but it felt like 90).
At the 4 p.m. weigh-in, there were a lot of long faces. Only 8 of the 22 fisherman brought a fish to the scales. Made for a very quick and easy weigh-in, but a very long and quiet ride home.

February Tournament:
After all 15 fish were weighed in, Neil Springstead stood tall on the podium in first place with 3 fish that weighed an incredible 4.70lbs.
Just behind him in second was "Old Faithful" Brian Metcalf with 3 fish of his own that weighed a record 3.10lbs.
In third place was Lee Brannon how had 3 lunkers for a total weight of 2.85lbs. Rich Cornelius brought in 2 hugh fish that pushed the scales to 1.95lbs for fourth place. Big Fish honors went to Neil with a nice 2.30lb. green trout. Best Boat honors went to the boat of Brian Metcalf and Jim Bailey, Sr. with a total weight of 4.95lbs.
