2005

Minutes of the Meeting:

The December 2005 Pensacola Hawg Hunters meeting was brought to order at 7:00 p.m. on December 14, 2005 at Founaris Brothers Resturant.
President Kevin Simmons presided. There were 20 members and one guest present.

Members Of The Board:

President
Kevin Simmons
Vice President/Treasure
Terry Smith
Secretary
C.J. Garrison
Tournament Director
Lee Brannon
Asst. Tournament Director
Tony Boyett

Old Buisness:

At the November 2005 meeting, the
E-board proposed to the club that the April 2006 tournament on Lake Martin launch from Wind Creek State Park on Saturday and from Kowliga ramp on Sunday. The club membership tabled the vote until the December 2005 meeting. After limited discussion a vote was taken and the proposal was not passed. The club will launch from
Wind Creek State Park on both days of the tournament.

New Buisness:

The Hawg Hunters have a new member, Mark Churchwell. Welcome Mark, now get your wallet out. The E-board ask for volunteers to organize a Banquet Committee. There were none, so the
E-board will do some calling and have some recommendations at the
January 2006 meeting. Some suggested locations were Steak & Ale, Cock-of-the-Walk and Copelands. We will be looking for a Friday night in February 2006. The Tournament Director has made room reservations for all the two-day tournaments. He has also reserved some rooms for the one-day tournament in March 2006 at Miller's Ferry for those that want to go up on Friday.
See Lee Brannon for more info.
Speaking of hotel rooms, Lee was also able to get a complimentary room for our September 2006 two-day tournament on Lay Lake. He will raffle the room away later this year.

A Little Salt:

Maxine on "Life"

"Life is like an oven.
It burns my a**!"

Maxine on "Housework"
"I do my housework in the nude.
It gives me an incentive to clean the mirrors as quickly as possible."

Maxine on "Aging"
"Take every birthday with a grain of salt. This works much better if the salt accompanies a Margarita."

Never read the fine print. There ain't no way you're going to like it.

If you let a smile be your umbrella, then most likely you will get soaking wet.

The only two things we do with greater frequency in middle age are urinate and attend funerals.

Do you realize that in about 40 years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

Money can't buy happiness -- but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

Tournament Report:

Let's Fish!
The weatherman was calling for cold and wet weather and, this time, he called it correctly.
Good thing the fish don't listen to the weathermen. All 16 fisherman caught a keeper fish. 7 fisherman had limits and 4 others had 4 fish each. Not bad for Escambia River on a cold, and wet day.
At the end of the weigh-in 4th place went to our newest member Mark Churchwell. Mark had a limit that weighed 6.15lbs.
Not a way to make friends, Mark.
Most new members have the courtesy to wait at least a few tournaments before taking our money. Third place was secured by "Mr. Hook, Line and Sinker" Frank Kelly with a limit that came to the scales at 6.40lbs. Tony Boyette took second with 4 fish that tipped the scales at 7.25lbs.

Tony also had the Big Fish at 3.20lbs.

First place went to Lee "Mr. Slammer" Brannon with a limit bag that weighed 7.70lbs. Congradulations guys!
Just think...No fisherman has to sit in the also fished box for December . Everybody got a point in the ole stocking for Christmas.
Ain't Santa Clause just Great!!!
