Message From The President:

I would like to take a second and thank the guys who helped out at our Lake Martin "Cook Out". I hope that everyone had enough chicken and spuds.
Our next stop for a cook out will be Lay Lake in September. Would you mind Mexican Bass Filets again?
Not to speak to soon, I think Spring is now here and Summer is around the corner. Time to check out the old boat and trailer to make sure everything works like it should. Check your trailer lights and bearings. If you have oil bath hubs,
it might be time to change the oil.
No need to get stuck on the side of the road in 90 degree heat trying to fix a hub. If you don't carry an extra hub assembly, you might give it some thought.
It's not expensive and could save you from some grief.
See you next month at Miller's Ferry.

Dave

April Tournament:

The second two day tournament of the new year was at Lake Martin. Those who had been to lake Martin knew a little about what to expect but for a few of our new members this was a new experience. No one could dispute the splendor of the lake and the surrounding scenery. The lake was only about 1 foot below full pool level. The deep clear water was a beauty to behold. A total of 21 limits were weighed in for the two days. WOW!! 72 keepers we weighed in the first day with the big fish of the day being 3.10 pounds caught by Donnie Lewis. Sunday it was predicted to turn cool and windy and boy it sure did.Day two weigh-in was considerably different. Not as many had limits, and there were only eight anglers with a limit this time. 67 fish were brought to the scales. The total number of fish was 133 and the total weight caught for the weekend was 167.97 pounds. Big fish for Sunday was caught by John Buck. His lunker?? was 1.85 pounds.
