Message From The President:

Gentlemen, I would like this opportunity to remind you all of the real meaning of this special time of year. This is a time to say thanks for all you have and really appreciate the love and friendship you have in your family and friends.
Keep them close, they will not always be with you. Remember,
Christmas is not about the gift you GET, but more about the ones you GIVE.
Give all you have to your family and friends. If we're lucky, we will get to do it all over again in about a year.
Now let's go fishing and strike terror in those little green trout.

Merry Christmas!

Dave

Minutes of the Meeting:

The December meeting of the Pensacola Hawg Hunters was brought to order at
7:00 P.M. December 9 2009 at
Founaris Brothers Restaurant.
Dave Dyess our new president
presided over the meeting.
There were 23 members and 1 guest
Bob Jones present.

Old Business:

The November Meeting minutes and treasurer's report were read and accepted. Bill Myrick reports the Boo Ray Pot was up to $272.00 for a 5 lb fish.
The 50/50 drawing was won by John Buck.
A motion was made by Mack Cramer that the warranty for the newly repaired scales be paid for from the special fund.
The motion failed and so it will be paid for from the general fund.
John Buck reminded everyone about the Banquet details. 30 to 35 members and guests are expected to attend.
The November tournament results were given out and the December tournament draw was done.
Mack Cramer invited everyone to his house for Super Bowl Sunday. Let him know if you plan to attend.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:40PM.

New Business:

Pete Mistich was voted in as our newest member. Welcome Pete!

December Tournament:

The second tournament of the year was held on the Tensaw River at Scott's Landing as the launch site.
COLD AND WET .... WET AND COLD
What a day!!
With temps in the low 40's and high winds from the northeast at blast off everyone was covered up from head to toe so it was hard to tell who was who.
The drizzling rain kept 19 fishermen standing on the porch until blast off time. Someone heard the word CRAZY being repeated many times during the last few minutes before Blast-Off.
No one could seriously disagree.
At the end of the day five anglers weighed in a limit of five fish. All others had 1 or 2 or 3. At weigh-in 13 of the 19 fishermen had something to bring to the scales.
Six members will find their names in the ALSO FISHED category.

1st Place
Dan Nash

Dan Nash brought in 5 nice fish for
7.71 lbs for the day. John and Dan fished together and stayed down low while everyone else burnt gas looking.

2nd Place
John Buck

John Buck came on strong with his first tournament of the year with 5 fish at
6.79 lbs. John and Dan must have really found a glory hole to take 1st and 2nd place. John was overheard saying that he probably caught and released 2 limits.

December Tournament:

3rd Place
Jeff Weaver

Jeff Weaver took 3rd place with 5 fish weighing in at 6.14 lbs. Bob Hanson said everytime he would catch a short fish Jeff would pull in a keeper behind him. Bet he wasn't chunkin that chug bug Saturday!!

4th Place
Jim Bailey Sr.

Well, Well lookie here...ol' Jim Sr done went and did it again. In the money for two months in a row Jim took 4th place with
5 fish and 5.32 lbs.
Looks like both Santa Clause and the
Fish Gods teamed up on him early.
While the rest of us were tip toeing through the tulips at weigh in and tryin ta get out of the rain ole Jim slipped in the back door and also took out 1st place on the club yearly standings page.
Bet nobody saw that patti comin did they?
HO HO HO
He's going ta be tuff to live with now.
He told me that them free autographs he offered last month cost a doller now!!
