Minutes of the Meeting:

The July meeting of the Pensacola Hawg Hunters was brought to order at 7:00 P.M. July 20, 2011 at Founaris Brothers Restaurant.
Dave Dyess presided over the meeting. There were 25 members present. We had 2 members attending the meeting that are not fishing this tournament. One guests tonight (Kate Harringer) with the FWC but no prospective members.

Old Business:

The yard sale that was discussed last month has been planned. It will be at Buck and Bass Sporting Goods Store on October 8. Minutes of the June meeting were read and accepted. The Treasurer's report was given and accepted. Boo-Ray Pot is up to $154 for a 5 pounder or larger bass caught during a tournament. The 50/50 was NOT won this month by Jere Jaillite. Jere won it three months in a row but lost out this month to Frank Kelly $34 to Frank and $34 to special fund.

New Business:

Tournament Director Frank Kelly
introduced a guest speaker for the night. Kate Harringer a research biologist with the FWC spoke to us about the local rivers and the monitoring that she helps with. Thanks Kate!!!! Great Job!!!! Frank gave out the June Tournament results and the draw for partners for the July tournament was done.
No caravan this month since we are fishing close to home. The Meeting was adjourned at 7:56 p.m.

July Tournament:

The July tournament was held on Escambia River launching from Smiths Landing.
This is our ninth tournament this year. Twenty Three Hawg Hunter's fished the
Tournament with 12 boats in the line-up.


1st Place
John Buck
John brought in two fish.
His total weight for day was 2.19 lbs.
John and his partner were the only two anglers to bring in more than 1 fish each.
Congratulations John!

A Little Salt:

2nd Place
Billy Myrick
Bill also brought in two fish and took the second place spot for the day. Bills total weight for the day was 2.03 pounds. Way to go Bill !!

3rd Place
Buddy Yates
Buddy took the third place spot this month with one fish. The weight for his one fish was 1.84 and won the Big Fish Pot for the day. Buddy was one of the 11 anflers who had fish and even though he only had one fish it was the biggest one.
Congratulations Buddy!!!


4th Place
Dave Dyess
Dave only had one fish for the day also but at 1.31 pounds it was enough for fourth place. Congratulations Dave!!!!
The total weight of the fish for tournament was 14.25 lbs. There were only 13 fish weighed in for the day. The average weight was 1.11 pounds for all the fish weighed in. Twelve club members were in the "Also Fished" category this month.
20 of the 23 club members present were wearing their club hats and shirts at the Saturday afternoon weigh-In. We did not have any dead fish for the entire year UNTIL we fished the May tournament.
This month we did not have any dead fish. That keeps the total for dead fish at 16 for the year.
