Minutes of
the Meeting: There
were no minutes from the previous meeting in May since our Secretary left the
country. The Treasurer's report was
given and accepted. The Booray Pot rolled over again last month with 23
members participating. See Bill Myrick for specific details. Buddy Yates reported that his son is in
physical therapy and is improving. Ken
Repine is also having physical therapy and is about the same. Jim
Bailey wants the club to take over the maintenance of the club web page. He will continue through the end of this
tournament year but after that he wants to be done with maintaining it. Helpers will be needed to make the transition
and then to keep the site up to date. The
manager/owner of Fournaris Brothers Restaurant says
he needs a minimum of $150 in food and drink orders on meeting night in order
for us to continue to use the meeting room for free. Members are encouraged to support the
effort to keep our meeting place.
The Meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m.

June
Tournament:
On to
the Top Four of the Tournament! Tony took first place honors this month with a nice 5 fish limit
weighing in at 7.73 pounds. Seems to me last year’s June tournament Tony and his partner
Rick Howard took the top 2 spots and this year they got paired up again to
take more money away from us. Great Job Tony!
Second place went to Kevin Simmons with a nice 5 fish limit
weighing in at 7.27 pounds. Just a couple of ounces behind Tony. Great Job Kevin!
Rick was 1 fish short of a limit but that didn’t stop him from
taking 3rd place honors. In
his stringer was the Big Fish of the tournament tipping the scales at 3.48 pounds. I’ll bet I
know where Rick and Tony fished….probably the same place as last year where
they placed 1st and 2nd. Great Job Rick!
Rounding out the top 4 was Jere with a nice limit of fish
weighing in at 5.56 pounds. This is going to keep Jere in the
Number 1 spot for the year end standings with a 9.5 point lead ahead of the
pack. Keep it up Jere and you’ll be
going places. Great Job Jere! |
Tournament
Results: Seems this year the fish got smaller on us as last year we had 1.34 pound average per fish. We did however catch more fish this year. On the yearly standings we had 9 people advance their position while 13 declined. Biggest movers up were Jeremy Burkart, Rick Howard and Glenn Kittrell with each advancing 3 places from last month. Remember you have to fish to advance in the standings. Make your plans now for the July tournament. Currently we have 16 member eligible for the Fish Off and Voting Rights. You need at least 6 tournaments to participate…make your plans now…the season is running out.
2nd – Kevin Simmons - 5 fish – 7.27 lbs.
