Minutes of the Meeting:
The Booray Pot was won at Lake Seminole by Don Jahnke so we are starting over with the pot. Each month $2 per participating member is added to the pot until someone catches the biggest fish over 5 pounds in a Hawg Hunter tournament. That's 2 times in a row for Don at Lake Seminole. See Bill Myrick for details. Trails End Lodging at Lake Seminole was discussed and everyone agreed that it was a great place to stay but due to the aging nature of our club we needed softer beds. New Business: Remember on the 50/50 you can't win if you don't buy a ticket. Half of the it goes to the winner and the the other half to the special fund which pays for our meals at the 2 day tournaments. Once again Jeff passed around a sign-up sheet for the cookout. Thanks for all those who volunteered. Aprils cookout was prepared by Dave Dyess and his personal chef named "Walmart". Fried chicken, beans and potatoe salad with rolls. Great job Dave!
From the tournament Director: March tournament results were given out and the draw was done for partners for the April Tournament at Lake Jordan.
The
Meeting was adjourned at 7:47 pm.
Attn:
There were some comments about club members bringing their fish to
scales with markers still attached. Below is the Tournament Rule 17 and
18. I have read this rule several times trying to get a clear
understanding of what it say's, After consulting 4 0f the 5 E-board
members I have come to this conclusion. Nothing can be attached to the
fish during the weigh in process, so the following procedure will be as
follows . While in line I would like for you to remove the markers from
your fish so when you place them in the basket they will be ready to be
weighed. Anyone attempting to remove markers when they are asked to
step up to have their fish weighed will be asked to step aside and
allow the next contestant to have their fish weighed. This procedure is
designed to keep the process moving smoothly and quickly. All
contestants are reminded that you are required to have your own bag,
should you not have one ,ask someone if you can use their bag when they
are done. This should eliminate the need to mark fish. 17. All tournaments shall be live release. Fish will be brought to the weigh master in a bag provided by the angler and given to the weigh master. Fish will be weighed and then returned to the water for release. Fish that show any sign of life will be considered live. Members may keep a lunker for mounting. 18. Nothing can be attached to a fish at the weigh in |

1st Place Kevin Simmons Kevin had a two day total of 10 fish weighing in at 26.16 pounds. Lake Jordan is full of spotted bass and Kevin found a bunch of nice ones. This is Kevin's first win this year to go along with 2 other 3rd place finishes. This jump's him up into the top six from 13th place last month in the AOY standings. Great Job! Congrats Kevin!
Bill's double limits of fish weighed in at 24.96 just shy of 25 pounds. That also means he had a 2.5 pound average for his 10 fish. I got to witness first hand his fish catching technique. To put it bluntly....he waxed my butt. Bill had limits of fish by 7:15am both days of the tournament and caught enough fish that if we would of been fishing a team tournment I was just along for the ride.
Great Job Bill!
Third place went to Jeff who also had double limits of spotted bass. His fish weighed in at 23.04 pounds for a 2.3 pound average. Not bad for fishing around the ramp as Jeff's big motor didn't start all weekend. This 3rd place win moves Jeff up a notch to 2nd place in the AOY standings. Actually he's tied with Jere points wise but Jere has more fish weighed in per our rules to put Jere in First Place for AOY. Congrats Jeff!
Congratulations John! May Birthday's Dave Bock Come celebrate Dave's Birthday with a steak dinner and sleepover. Location: Miller's Ferry Southern Inn Motel and the Steakhouse just down the road. When: Friday May 30, 2014 Bass Tournament to Follow! |

Wow!
Lake Jordan turned out to be a great tournament for most of us.
In fact on Day one we as a club almost had our limit. We
were just 5 fish short of having 16 members and 1 guest all having
their limits. On Saturday those 17 fishermen brought
80 out of a possible 85 fish to the scales weighing in at 173.36
pounds. That means we had a 4.7 fish per person average
with each fish averaging 2.16 pounds.
On Sunday the weather changed and some of us struggled including me to bring fish to the scales. Sundays total fish count was 62 weighing 116.92 pounds for a 3.6 fish per person average with a 1.88 pound per fish. Big fish on Saturday went to Marion Johnson with a 4.36 whopper and Sunday Dave Dyess took the honors with a 3.51 beauty. Overall I would say we had a very successful tournament but we did end up with a couple Slammer Nominees. No not with guys being late like last year......but we did have a man induced wreck.....or accident....or hit and run....what ever you want to call it. You see our very own Dan Nash was driving his boat looking out ahead of him to see where he was going....only problem was he had the boat in REVERSE and ran into John Buck's boat with his motor just minutes before blast off. Our other slammer nominee goes to Tony Boyett who at the weighin on Sunday decided he didn't want to keep his fish markers any more so he threw them in the water while emptying the contents of his weighin bag. He must of known Mack was going to say something about fish markers. We survived Jordan but some of the fish didn't survive us. We brought 9 dead fish up to the scales more than doubling our dead fish year to date number. Guys we need to do a better job at this. Get them livewells checked...or set the hook before they swallow it. If you have to cut the line and leave the hook it won't add any weight to them and it will rust out with not a lot of harm to the fish. The weather is only gonna get hotter and more stressful on fish in the livewells. Our AOY Race is at the halfway point with Jere and Jeff tied points wise for the coveted AOY title. Jere according to our rules would win if the season stopped now because he has brought more fish to the scales then Jeff. Jere has 32 while Jeff has 28. Mack has dropped down a little bit to 3rd but he is only 5 points away. 4th place Bill Myrick is closing on the gap and gaining on the leaders with him being only 4 points behind 3rd as compared to 10 points last month. Good job Bill! Sitting in 5th place is still Dave....only Dave Dyess this time as Dave Bock drops down to 9th. Rounding out the top 6 this month is Kevin Simmons fresh of his win at Lake Jordan He jumps from 13th to 6th with all the fishing points he added this month. Great job Kevin! This month we had 9 advance with 10 decline with Kevin making the biggest jump up 7 places. 5th though 10th place only has an 8 points spread which makes every participant point count. So make your plans to attend every event and you could find yourself in the top Six! Tournament
