Minutes of the Meeting: Old Business: Jeff our Club Presidnet started out the meeting with a little humor. (I think I heard that one before). Jeff did mention he was running out of jokes after starting the meeting the same way for the past 2 years. If you have any ideas or new ones....step up and get yourself nominated to take over the office of President. The club has officially grown by 1 as Michael Johnson was unanimously voted into the general membership. Reading of the Minutes was conducted and accepted as read. The Treasurer's report was given and accepted. The Booray Pot has rolled over again from last month so the pot is getting bigger. See Bill Myrick for details. Frank Dodge still has some Pfluger reels for sale...contact him if you are interested. New Business: Our Asst. Tournament Director position opened up for personal reasons so Mack Cramer nominated Bill Myrick to the position for the rest of the 2014 season. The nomination was seconded and then voted for unanimously by the general membership. Asst. Tournament Director Bill Myrick Proposals
for changes have been submitted. Per our Constitution they are
published here in the newsletter to be discussed at the September
meeting then voted on at the October meeting. So far we have 15
members eligible to vote with a couple more members close to the 6
tournament voting requirement. Help Wanted
With the end of the August Tournament we say goodbye to the 2pm weigh-ins until next June when the 2015 summer heats up again. Now we can look forward to cooler temps and longer days on the water with our Saturday 4:00 pm weigh-ins. Remember Sunday weigh-ins have always been 1:00 pm. Jere Jaillite our very own Leader in the AOY points race gave a small presentation on Live Oak Landing over at Tensaw. He's says it has been completely renovated and looks great so we might want to consider using the ramp next year. July tournament results were given out and the draw was done for partners for the August Tournament at Tensaw River.
The
Meeting was adjourned at 7:39 pm.
From the tournament Director: Although
it rained last month Mack once again brought up at the meeting the
importance of watching your
partner for signs of heat stress and heat stroke. The August
tournament should be a hot one this time. No rain in the forecast
for Tournament Day.

1st Place Jeff Weaver Jeff Weaver once again finds himself in first place with a nice limit of fish. His fish weighed in at 7.45 pounds, This is Jeff's 4th time in the winner's circle this year! He's on fire! I'm sure it helped with his good luck charm (Brenda) waiting on the bank for him as Jeff and Brenda were camped out overnight in the campgrounds at the landing. Jeff is really closing the gap on the AOY standings going from 7 points behind 2nd place to just 1 point. Great Job Jeff! Congrats Jeff!
Kevin weighed in 4 beauties that tipped the scales at 6.47 including the big fish of the tournament at 2.48 pounds! This Second place finish is Kevin's 4 time up in the money slots this year. Way to go! Looking at the pairings....seems Jeff and Kevin fished out of the same boat. I'm sure they had a great day of catching as shown to us at the weigh-in, Congrats Kevin!
Our current AOY points leader Jere is showing us there is no letting up. Jere takes brought in a limit of fish weighing 5.49 pounds to take 3rd place honors. Looking through the records this is Jere's 7th time this year in the money slots. We might have to let the IRS know about him. Great Job! Congrats Jere!
Great Job! Congratulations Don! Check your alabama license...it expires August 31, 2014. Time to get a new one before we go to Lake Mitchell. September Birthdays We only have one birthday boy for the month of September. Terry Smith |

Tensaw River
was a Hot one. Not fish catching hot...but temperature Hot!
We had 14 out of 17 anglers catch 33 fish for a 1.9 fish per
person average. Those 33 fish weighed 47.59 pounds making a 1.4
pound per fish average. Big fish honors went to Kevin Simmons
with a 2.48 pound bucket mouth.
After the weigh-in we had a Hot dog eating contest sponsored by Don Jahnke, Mack Cramer and Lee Brannon. Don and his wife who were also camped out on the riverbank used their motorhome to cook all the fixin's.. Marion Johnson and his wife more than likely had a hand in it too along with Jeff & Brenda. The food was great and so well appreciated after a tough day of fishing we sort of forgot who won the contest. Maybe someone at the next meeting will fess up as to how many they ate. All I know is that it was a great spread of food fit for a king! Thanks to all who had a part in the preparations! This month our Top 6 anglers stayed in their same spots as last year they just moved the mumbers around a bit. Jere our AOY points leader added a couple of points to put him now 9 points ahead of 2nd. A tough feat with the quality of fishermen we have in the top 6. Mack currently in Second place is slipping a little as he now is only 1 point ahead of 3rd with Jeff charging up on him. Jeff in 3rd place has raised the spread behind him to 20 points make it almost impossible for 4th place Bill Myrick to advance. 5th place Kevin Simmons is moving up...now only 17 points behind 4th. Rounding out our top 6 is Ron Bridges just 16 points behind 5th place. Looking a little farther down the standings there is going to be quite a battle for that 6th place spot as 4 other anglers are close behind with only 2 more tournaments to go. The 2 Dave's are just 2 points out while Tony and John are 6 and 13 points out. This month once again we had 6 people advance their standing while 7 people declined. Biggest mover was Thom Labelle jumping 4 places. Remember you can't improve your standings if you don't fish. The race is really heating up with only 2 more tournments to go this season. It's looking like the top 3 could change around next month. Jere has been consistent but is that enough to stay on top? Will Jeff's momentum continue into the next tourment? Will we have a new name for 6th place? All these questions will be answered as long as you show up and fish the next tournment. Our next one is a two day tournament up at Lake Mitchell. Make your plans now to attend. It promises to be a great time. Hooyah! Tournament
