TOURNAMENT REPORT

Claiborne
November 22, 2014
Cobb's Landing

November found us at Lake Claiborne just outside of Camden Al.  Contrary to the expected doom and gloom that was feared by the non-participants it never happened.  Saturday morning was cool and a tiny bit foggy but not cold. They were pulling water and several of us headed to the dam at blast off. This is where I caught my larges fish 3 pounds and some change, Don also caught the lunker of the tournament ( a little over 4 pounds)in the same area .The water had a heavy stain to it and it was  in the high 50s to low 60s depending on where you were at.  As the day progressed it got cloudier and a bit windy but not bad. At the weigh in EVERYONE caught fish and there were no dead fish.  Can you believe it Ole Billy Myrick won the tournament with 8.79 pounds good job Billy. Coming in 2nd was Dave Bock with 8.72 pounds (guess we will hear a 20 minute summary at the meeting) followed by Lee Brannon’s 3rd place finish with 5.98 pounds and in 4th was Matt Brown with 5.71 pounds. It was really obvious that all had fun and enjoyed fishing Claiborne and no one had any issues pulling their boats out of the water. All went good. Just so you will know, from the turn on the main road to Ellis Landing is 1.19 miles and from the same spot to Cobbs Landing is 5.94 miles. Hardly much at all, anyway until next time when John is back. Good fishing

Until next time..Keep your hooks sharp!
