Minutes of the Meeting:
The July meeting of the Pensacola Hawg Hunters
was brought to
order at 7:00 P.M on Wednesday the 20th of July at Founaris Bros.
Greek Restaurant by our President
John Buck. We had 23 members and one soon to be voted on guest.
Old Business:
A unamious vote was conducted to admit Dave Nason to the club.
Congrats Dave you are now a member of the best club in
Pensacola. We all look forward to getting to know you and
hope you become a very active member.
Dave Bock showed up so we read the minutes from the last
meeting.
The
treasury report was read and accepted.
Booray Report: The pot is now up to $206 now for a 5
pound fish brought to the scales. See Buddy for details.
50/50 was won by Carlito Silvania.
Another call for changes and proposals was given. If you have
any changes you want made to our well functioning club be sure to get
them in writing to one of our e-board members. Best way is to
send them electronically to Dave Bock our club secretary so they can
get posted in the August Newsletter. They will be addressed
and discussed at the September meeting with a vote to be conducted
during the October meeting.
New Business:
A Call to Arms was given for Club Officers. Nominations are
being accepted for the various E-board positions to start off the new
Season. Let your voice be heard.
From the Tournament Director:
New fishing regulations take place 1 July 2016. Biggest
change is you can only keep one fish over 16 inches
unless you
are part of a tournament that has a permit.
The club voted to apply for permits for all the Florida lakes we will
be fishing.
For more information on the rules see the Florida Fish
and Wildlife Conservation Commision webpage.

Payouts were given for the June tournament. Congrats to all those
who received a payout!
The draw was conducted for the July tournament.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:45pm.
New Member!

Dave's first Golf Ball fish in the club!
Hooyah!
Tournament:
The
July Tournament was held on the Perdido River out of the new Wilson
Robertson landing built over by Ruby's fishcamp off Hwy 90.
Real
close to most of us so we met our partners there. Spooky dark
there as I guess they didn't want to put in lights.
Nice
ramp though. For the tournament we had 11 boats
carrying 22 members. It promised to be hot and hot it was.
Temps that is...mid 90's with high humidity and sun.
Tournament Results:
1st Place
Mack Cramer
Mack is
back in the winner's circle for the second time this season.
His
5 fish limit tipped the scales at 9.48 pounds anchored by a 3.34 brute.
Mack brought his little boat to the tournament so it goes to
show
you...you don't need all that fancy high dollar stuff to win
tournaments. Just a keen sense of where the fish are at and
how
to catch them.
Way to go Mack!
Great Job!
Congrats Mack!
2nd Place
Tony Boyett
Tony also brought in a limit of fish. His 5 fish
limit
weighed in at 6.36 pounds. It's my understanding that Tony
had a
chance at a lunker but willingly gave it up so his partner could weigh
in a fish. Story was he missed the fish twice then told Big
Fish
Bob Jones to throw in there where he missed the bites. In
true
Hawg snatcher style Big Fish Bob hauled it out even allowing Tony to
net the fish. Lo and behold it was a brute and almost a
booray!
Bob's fish weighed in at a whopping 4.76 pounds!
Great Sportsmanship Tony!
Great Job!
Congratulations Tony!
3rd Place
Michael Johnson
Michael's back up in the top 4 again. This time a 3rd place
finish with 4 fish weighing in at 4.84 pounds.
Great Job!
Congratulations Michael!
4th Place
Bob Jones
Here it is...the fish that Tony gave away. Big Fish Bob's
fish
tipped the scales at 4.76 pounds and was also recorded as the Lunker of
the Tournament. This is Bob's first trip this season to the
top 4
but he's taken a lot of our money with the big fish pots.
Great Job!
Congratulations Bob!
AOY Analysis
Nine down and only 3 to go! The season is fast
approaching
its end. Just 3 more tournaments to go before we crown our
Angler
of the Year. Who will it be? Can Jeff hold off and
beat
Mack this year? or will Mack close the gap and take over.
Currently
in fisrt place is Jeff with 162 points. This puts
him ahead
of second place by 16 points. Jeff's missed one tournament
this
year and can't aford to miss another if he wants to stay on top.
Gaining
4 points to close the gap between second and first to 16 is Mack.
He also missed a tournament this year but has been regaining
ground. Can he gain enough to win?
A little ways
behind tied for 3rd place is Pete Potter and Jere Jaillite.
They both have 127 points. Being 19 points behind I
don't
know if there is enough fishing time left in the season for them to
advance any higher but anything can happen at a Hawg Hunter
Tournament!
Dropping down a little to 5th place is John Buck. only 1
point back so we still have a 3 legged race for 3-5th place.
These positions will probably go down to the wire to figure
out.
Finishing up the top six is Carlito with 108 points putting him 16
points behind but 13 points ahead of everyone else in the pack.
CO-AOY Analysis:
Our AOY six place holder is still our Top CO- AOY of
the year,
Carlito Silvania. He still has a commanding 27 point
lead over
Cliff Armstrong. The real story is how Bob Jones now only
needs 2 points to catch Cliff in the Silver position.
Gaining 13 points coming off a 4th place finish while Carlito
and Cliff both skunked during the tournament.
