Minutes of the Meeting:
The June meeting of the Pensacola Hawg Hunters
was brought to
order at 7:00 P.M on Wednesday the 15th of May at Founaris Bros.
Greek Restaurant by our President
John Buck. We had 19 members and one prospective member along with a
couple of family members of Buddy Yates and Randy Cole.
Old Business:
Reading of the minutes from the last meeting was waived.
The
treasury report was read and accepted.
Booray Report: The pot keeps getting bigger while we look for that 5
pound fish to tip the scales. See Buddy for details.
50/50 was won by Cliff Armstrong.
New Business:
Reminder that June, July and August have weigh-ins at 1pm like voted on
by the club last October.
August is coming up and all proposals to the rules changes must be
submitted in writing by the August Meeting.
From the Tournament Director:
Payouts were given for the May tournament. Congrats to all those
who received a payout!
The draw was conducted for the June tournament.
Remember that there is a $5 launch fee at Live Oak Landing.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:37pm.
Prospective Member!
Dave Nason
Oh no....another Dave! Dave is coming to us from Louisiana
where he has had club officer positions in other clubs. From
the
picture I beleive he meets our age requirement to be a member.
He fished his guest tournament with us this month and was
smart enough not to catch a ton of fish....of course he was wtih
Herman. He just might have a chance to get voted in.
Tournament:
The
June Tournament was held on the Tensaw River out of Live Oak Landing.
They have really made the landing better. Could it
be from collecting $5 a boat launch? Anyway we had 8 boats
carrying 17 members and one prospective member fishing his guest
tournament. The weather man said we had about a 60% percent
chance of rain. Guess he was wrong. It was
actually a pleaseant day and didn't start getting hot until around
11:00 am. We even had fog on the water for about 2 hours
first thing in the morning.
Tournament Results:
1st Place
Jeff Weaver
Jeff was once again proving why he's on top of the leader board.
He was one shy of a limit but that didn't stop him.
His 4 fish tipped the scales at 9.16 pounds.
Anchored by the big fish of the tournament a 3.49 pound Hawg.
This is Jeff's 3rd win this season backed up by 2nd, 3rd, 4th
and 5th place finish each.
Way to go Jeff!
Great Job!
Congrats Jeff!
2nd Place
Pete Potter
Pete caught a limit of fish again this month. This time big
enough to take 2nd place. His limit weighed in at 8.05
pounds. This is so far the highest finish Pete has earned
this season but don't rule him out. He's been steadily climing the
leader board.
Great Job!
Congratulations Pete!
3rd Place
Mack Cramer
Mack's back from Mexico and back at his old shenanigans of
taking our money by finishing in the top 4.. Mack also
brought in a limit of fish. His fish weighed in at 7.72
pounds.
Great Job!
Congratulations Mack!
4th Place
Lee Brannon
Lee rounds out our top 4 with 4 fish weighing in at 6.64 pounds.
Looking through the records, Lee's been having a tough year.
This is only his second time in the top 4 out of 6
tournaments he's fished this season. He placed 3rd in the
April Lake Jordan tournament.
Great Job!
Congratulations Lee!
AOY Analysis
Eight down and only 4 to go! Who will take home this years
coveted Angler of the Year Title? Besure to come to the
tournaments to find out! The more you participate the more
enjoyable the club will be.
There's movement in the top six this time as last months 2nd place
position holder didn't fish this month. Seems everyone in the
top six this season has missed a tournament or two. Real hard
to climb the leaderboard when you miss out on points.
This months leader is still Jeff Weaver who added to his lead by
grabbing the most points available by wining the tournament.
He's now 20 points ahead of the pack with a total of
145 points.
Reclaiming 2nd place is Mack after his Mexican hiatus. He now
has 125 points. 8 points ahead of 3rd.
Also climbing up one notch to 3rd place is Jere Jaillite.
Jere finished 6th during the tournament and added 10 fishing
points and 3 participation points to his total of 117. Don't
forget the 2 meeting and 1 hat/shirt points.
Dropping down from 2nd to 4th is John Buck. His drop is due
to not being able to participate in the tournament. Sometimes
family just becomes more important especially on Father's day weekend.
Climbing one notch to 5th is Pete Potter. His 2nd place
finish propelled him to being 9 points behind to 9 points ahead of 6th
place Carlito Silvania. Pete is now only 1 point behind
John's 4th place. Could he move up some more?
CO-AOY Analysis:
Our AOY six place holder is also our Top CO- AOY of the year,
Carlito Silvania. He has a commanding 26 point lead over
Cliff Armstrong. Decreasing the gap to only 15 points now
behind Cliff is Bob Jones. Bob had an 8th place
finish this tournament while Cliff was in the "Also Fished" category.

Well Herman said it was...but looking through the records
Herman actally caught one with us during the two day tournament at
Jordan in April. Maybe he was just looking for
recognition......Hooyah! Good job Herman!
