TOURNAMENT REPORT

Greeting to all the Hawgs, our last tournament was doomed with rain, wind and just basically a bad day, so weather man said but in reality it turned out to be a nice day. Congrats to the winners.

Now we turn the page for our upcoming tournament at Seminole. We have room reservations at the Seminole Inn, for those of you who wish to go up Thursday make sure you let me know, as of now I have myself and 2 others going up Thursday, ( Don and Cliff) . As always we will be there during some spawning which always produces large fish, I’m not a bed fisherman but if I happen on one I will fish it. Many of you have your favorite baits but I have found that plastics do well along with spinner baits, now being there during the spawn remember this ole fish tail, “ In the pre spawn, when the turtles are on the logs, the fish are in the shallows”. Also the banks that get the sun first is good place to look. One thing I have found on Seminole is to look for migratory routs that fish take moving from deep water to shallow water, this can be found with your electronics, old road beds, creeks or just a little deeper water that narrows down to for a trail. Practice day is when you look for these areas or you can just chunk a bait and hope, anyway try to find these areas it will help you catch fish.

Now I want to clear up a rule e. After all the non-boaters have been accommodated in the tournament draw any remaining boaters will have the option to be solo boaters. If there are any boaters remaining who wish to not be a solo boater then they will be drawn as a non-boater with another boater. The club will NOT be responsible for any tournament expenses of "ANY" who opt to be solo boaters. Any boater opting to fish solo will NOT be permitted to bring a guest, however he may be assigned a partner in accordance with rule 6.

Example : If there is 3 boaters left and there are no non-boaters left the tournament director will ask who wants to fish alone, let’s say 2 say yes and the 3 says he does not wish to fish alone, then that person will be placed in the non-boater category and drawn out with a boater, There are many scenarios and all can be handled properly, This is a new rule and mistakes have been made and that is on me, I am totally clear on how this rule reads and its intent, Lets all work together to move forward and make the Hawg Hunter Bass Club fun exciting and keeping our long tradition of a Boater/Non Boater club.

Our Birthday Boys for March are Herman Allday and Brian Nall

Remember respect where others are fishing and be safe on the water
