Rob Vincent and Matt Barnes

Old Business:

The minutes from the last waived by the membership.

The treasury report was read and accepted.

Booray Report: The Booray pot keeps growing.  It's now up to $642 for a 5.5 pound fish.  Remember your $24 equal to $2 per month is due at the November Meeting for those members already in the Booray pot.  Those wanting to join have to wait until the pot is won unless of course you want to match it.  See Buddy for details.

This month's 50/50 was won by Matt Brown!

The Awards Banquet Date has been set!  We will be dining at Sonny's Barbecue 630 N Navy Blvd on Friday the 15th of December starting at 6:00pm. Guests are invited to attend so bring that special someone who supported your fishing all year.  The price will be $18 per person and you need to pay up at the November Meeting.  Drinks will be paid for separately.

New Business:

It is with sad hearts to say that we lost another club member.  Ronald "Ronnie" Bridges.  Hope you rest in peace and catch them Booray fish every day.  Here's a link to his Obituary.....

His funeral was Thursday right after our meeting on Wednesday and we had a good showing of club members to honor our friend.

Dues are Due

Per our Constitution:
a. Dues were due and payable at the October meeting for the following year.  Any Member that hasn't paid his dues by the November meeting will be removed from membership and must re-apply and fish a guest tournament.

b. Active Member Dues: $40.00 per year.
c. Inactive Membership: $20.00 per year.

From the Tournament Director:

Payouts for the September tournament were handed out.   Congrats to all those who received money. Great job!

The meeting was adjourned at 7:59pm

If you are going to be a boater and plan on staying overnight at Miller's Ferry you have to make your own Room Reservation.  We typically stay the night before the tournament at:

The Southern Inn  -  Ph # (334) 682-4148

October Fish Off Tournament:

The October Fish Off was held on Lay Lake out of the Lower Dam Landing.  We had a great turn out as there were 20 club members and one guest fishing out of 13 boats.   Yep we had some solo boaters.  The weather was great with cooler temps and no humidity except for some early morning fog in the backs of the bays.  More so on prefish Friday.  Everyone said it was tough but we still managed to bring in 127 fish to the scales weighing 202.14 pounds.  Thats a 6.35 fish per person average.  Big fish honors on Saturday went to Cliff Armstrong with a 3.29 pounder and Sunday Dave Bock managed to catch the Big Fish of the Tournament a 3.87 Spotted Bass who was tricked into biting by a Pop-R.

Saturday's night meal was a great success!  The steaks were great and cooked just right.  Thanks to all those who took part in the duties necessary to put on a great cookout.

Tournament Results:

1st Place
Lee Brannon

Lee wins it all!  Every since Lee prefished that ditch near the hotel during the September tournament he has won the tournaments he's entered.  He won the September tournament with us then the Fish Off with the Panhandle group and now our Fish Off this month.  His luck has sure turned for the better.   Lee caught limits both days and his 10 fish weighed in at 18.71 pounds.
Lee season consisted of 2 First Place wins, a Second Place and 2 Fourth place finishes.

Great Job!

Congrats Lee!

2nd Place
Jeff Weaver

Jeff managed to fish 8 fish that would measure and brought them to the scales for a 16.36 pound total.   That's a 2 pound average.  2 more and he could of won.  Jeff had a good year finishing in the money 6 times this year.  This Second Place a Third Place and 4 Fourth Place finishes.

Great Job!

Congratulations Jeff!

3rd Place
Jere Jaillite

Jere also caught 2 limits of fish to put him in 3rd place for the tournament.  His 10 fished weighed in at 16.04 pounds.  Jere made it to the top 4 four times this season with a Win back in May and a Second Place, and 2 Third Place finishes.

Great Job!

Congratulations Jere!

4th Place
Matt Brown

Rounding out the Top 4 is Matt Brown who's been missing this year as he only fished 3 tournaments.  Sucks to be employed so much.  Not everyone is retired like the majority of the club.  Anyway Matt managed to find 9 fish who wanted in ride to the scales.  Their combined weight was 15.42 pounds.  this is Matt's first and only showing in the money this year unless you count the 50/50 he won at the meeting.

Great Job!

Congratulations Matt!

AOY Analysis

We that's it!   We are done!   And the Winner is:

2017 Angler of the Year
Pete Potter

Pete held off the charge by Dave Bock to finish 10 points ahead of everyone else.  Pete had a real good year catching fish in all 12 tournaments he fished.  He even won one back in July.   Great Job!

Jeff had a great tournament so tallying up his points he gained enough to tie Dave's points but by our rules Jeff caught more fish during the year so he will take Second Place Honors.   Great job Jeff!

Dave Bock drops to 3rd then.
Pete must of threw a banana in Dave's boat as Dave struggled with equipment problems all weekend during the Fish Off. Even on Sunday Dave blasted/crawled off running/walking on only 3 cylinders.
Dave ending up having a great season.  He too fished all 12 tournaments and caught at least one fish in each.  This is Dave's highest finish in the club since he joined in 2008.  I'm very proud of him....

Mack Cramer drops one spot to settle in at 4th place resulting in his 14th time in the Top Six in the last 16 years.   Great job!

John Buck scoots up to 5th place just one point behind Mack.  Giving John 11 Top Six finishes in the last 16 years.  Awesome!

Rounding out your 2017 Top Six is Cliff Armstrong.  Cliff too had a great season where he caught fish in 10 out of the 11 tournaments he fished.  Even winning one back in January.  This is Cliff's first time in the Top Six in our Club so be sure to congratulate him.
