Minutes of the Meeting:
The December meeting of the Pensacola Hawg Hunters
was brought to
order at 7:00 P.M on Wednesday the 13th of December at
Founaris
Bros.
Greek Restaurant by our President
Jeff Weaver. We had 25 members present and 2 guests. One a
prospective member named Mark Williams sponsored by Kevin Simmons and
the other was Kim invited to oversee Bill Armstrong's birthday party.
She even brought cupcakes for the occasion!
Awards Banquet
The year end banquet was finalized and promised to be a good one.
(Pictures can be seen here)
It really was a great one put on by our outgoing President John Buck
and our incoming President Jeff Weaver. John's always good in
front of a crowd and Jeff did an outstanding job on the video slide
presentation. Also the pamphlet was a nice
addition to this year's program. We missed it last
year.
It was also nice seeing all the ladies who support their husbands in
our hunt for them bass. Flowers for everyone!
No the draw was not rigged Dave Bock actually drew out a winning ticket
with the number matching his wife's. Reminds me of a time
when Buddy Yates did the same thing a couple years back.
Old Business

New Business:
Mack says since the NFL players refuse to stand for our national
anthem he is not having is annual super bowl party this year.
But
he is inviting all of us over for a college football game on the 8th of
January at 6:00 pm. Same kind of party in the past years but
it
will be on the college level. Ever wanted to go back to
college?
FRAT Party at Mack's House!
All you need to do is bring
your drinks and let Mack know if you are going to make it.
Call,
Text or Email him with your plans or for our newer members if you don't
know where he lives just ask him. I would post his number but
the
NFL may be looking for him.
From the Tournament Director:
Payouts for the November tournament were handed out.
Congrats to all those who received a paycheck. Great job!
Remember if you want to be a boater in our tournaments you have to
have your insurance policy on file with the Assistant Tournament
Director - Bill Armstrong prior to the draw.
The draw was conducted for the December Escambia
River tournament.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:34 pm.
December Tournament:
The
December Tournament found us at the Swamp house on Escambia
River
in Florida. It's been a while since we fished in Florida and
we
were all armed with a Florida State tournament exemption sheet.
Well the boaters anyway but fishing in the panhandle area we
find
it hard to catch them over 16 inch fish. As a club we did
manage
to catch 2 out of the 64 fish caught. Jere and Dave Nason
were
the lucky ones.
The
morning launch was chaos as it looked like 2 or 3 more clubs decided to
join us. Or maybe we joined them as this wasn't our normal
weekend after the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Anyway it was
crowded. Most boats I've seen on the river but as I heard
someone
say the river will swallow them up. Sure enough I didn't
hardly
see anybody the whole day. (Maybe that's why I struggled
catching
fish)
The weather started out low 40's and climbed to the mid 60's
by weigh in time. A whole other ordeal as one of the other
clubs
had the same weigh in time as us. But we made it.
Even Pete
Potter after joining us with a quick tuck-n-roll showing us at 81 he's
as fit as a fiddle.
Tournament Results:
1st Place
Jere Jaillite
Jere came in with a great bag of fish for December on the Escambia
river. His 5 fish limit weighed in at 9.84 pounds anchored by the
tournament Big Fish of 2.99 pounds. Jere said he also has a
Booray fish up to the boat but it spit the hook out at him. Seems
he didn't even have it hooked but I'm sure Jere had a great day anyway.
Great Job!
Congrats Jere!
2nd Place
Dave Nason
Dave also brought in a bag over 9 pounds except he was fishing out of
the back of a boat. Dave's limit of 5 fish tipped the scales to
9.31 pounds. A great day for Dave too!
Great Job!
Congratulations Dave!
3rd Place
Lee Brannon
Lee's been on a roll ever since rolling into that ditch a couple of
months back. He's consistently placed in the money since then and is
steadily paying off that fence repair. Lee's 5 fish limit weighed
7.84 pounds. Good enough for 3rd place!
Great Job!
Congratulations Lee!
4th Place
Tony Boyett
Hooyah! Finally a current picture of Tony. Tony also found
a limit of fish. His fish weighed 6.81 pounds good enough for 4th
place. Oh yea and he did it out of the back of Lee's boat!
Great Job!
Congratulations Tony!
AOY Analysis
2 down 10 to go in the new season. A whole lot of shuffling going
on. This month we find a different Top Six with 3 anglers
dropping down and 3 new ones rising to the top.
To
begin with we have a tie for First place with Jere and Lee both having
39 points. As our rules state we can have ties all the way up
until the last tournament of the year then the tie breakers become..
.
1. most fish caught
2. most live fish caught
3. heaviest stringer caught
Apply
that now and Jere would win....but the season has just begun.
Plenty of fishing yet to go with some great places scheduled for
great times of the year.
In 3rd place for now is a Co-Angler named Dave Nason jumping up from 7th to 3rd.
In
4th is another Co-Angler by the name of Thom Labelle who won last
months tournament but only placed 13th this month so he dropped.
In
5th is Jeff Weaver who is no stranger to the Top Six. He jumped
up from 10th last month to hold 5th this month. Strangely enough
he also finished 5th during this months tournament.
And rounding out our Top Six is Mack Cramer who managed to keep his 6th place standing from last month to this month.
No
mention of our Reigning Champion Pete Potter yet as he's had two tough
tournament so far this year. A 12th place and then a 10th place
finish during the first two tournaments. But he's only 5
points away from the Top Six group and I'm sure he'll jump up there
soon.
CO-AOY Analysis:
For Co-Anglers we have a change in the lead. Dave Nason jumps
ahead of last months leader Thom Labelle by 5 points. Thom didn't
do so well and Dave did great during the tournament.
Staying in 3rd place is Brian Nall.
