Minutes of the Meeting:
The June meeting of the Pensacola Hawg Hunters
was
brought to
order at 7:00 P.M on Wednesday the 20th of June at
Founaris
Bros.
Greek Restaurant by Jeff Weaver. We had 19 members present and one
guest. Justin Jaillite, Grandson of no other than Jere
Jaillite.
Old Business
The minutes from the last
waived by the membership.
The
treasury report was read and accepted.
Booray Report: The Booray pot now stands at $144 as no one has caught a
fish over 5.5 pounds in the last three tournaments.
See Buddy Yates for Details...
This month's 50/50 was won by John Schaeff.
Pete Potter and John Schaeff won Slider Hooks donated by Lee "Slider"
Brannon. Nice to see his sponsorship doing something for the
club.
New Business:
No new Business, however it might be time to start thinking about Club
Officers for the next season. We only have 4 more
tournaments/months to go before we reset the playing field.
If you want to get more involved and take on a leadership
role in the club then speak up and get your name in the nomination.
All the current E-board positions are open for replacements.
From the Tournament Director:
Payouts for the May tournament were handed out.
Congrats to all those who received a paycheck.
Great job!
The
draw for the June Tournament was conducted.
Drawn out were 10 boaters with 7 Co-Anglers for the June Tournament to
be held at Live Oak Landing on the the Tensaw River.
Meeting was adjourned @ 7:29 pm
June Tournament:
The
June Tournament was held at the Tensaw River out of Live Oak landing
and it was standing room only. Seems Live Oak is a pretty
popular spot for tournaments. Lucky most of the club got
their early as the parking lot got pretty full. Since it was
June I'm sure it was hot. Weigh in was at 1pm and we had 14
out of 17 catch fish with 3 limits found by the top 4 guys.
Total fish count was 38 weighing 55.14 pounds pushing the club up over
the One-Thousand pound mark for the season with only 8 tournaments in
the record books.
Okay...on to the results!
Tournament Results:
1st Place
Tony Boyett
Tony was first boater out of the hat and also the First Place
Finisher. Tony's limit of fish weighed in at 9.96 pounds
after penalties. He had one fish who didn't survive the heat
of June.
Tony has slowing been creeping up the money slots in the last
4 tournaments he's fished with us.. He had a 4th in December
on Escambia, a 3rd in February on Seminole, a 2nd in May on Tensaw and
now a 1st in June back on Tensaw. No were else to go but the
bottom and start over again. Just ask Lee.
Excerpt from last months newsletter:
"This is Tony's 3 trip to the Money Slots as he previously had a 4th, a
3rd and now this 2nd place finish. Will his next one be a 1st?"
Did I call this one or not? Hooyah!
Great job!
Congrats Tony!
2nd Place
John Buck
John also had a limit of fish. His fish tipped the scale at
8.38 pounds after losing some for dead fish penalties. Even
his big fish shed .2 pounds at the scales. This is John's
second trip this season to the money slots but he's been no stranger to
them in the past. I think having his son in the club he
formed back in his day might be causing him to step up his game some.
Good show!
Great Job!
Congratulations John!
3rd Place
John Russell Buck
John Russell is back at it again for his second 3rd place finish since
becoming a member this season. He only caught 3 fish but he
had the right size ones. His 3 fish weighed in at 6.41
pounds. He also had big fish of the tournament with a 3.51
brute.
Great Job!
Congratulations John Russell!
4th Place
John Schaeff
John Schaeff rounds out our Top 4. Yep...Three John's in the
top four not to mention that Tony also deals with "johns" in his
business.
This is John's second trip to the money and he did it with a limit of
fish weighing in at 5.66 pounds!
Great Job!
Congratulations John!
AOY Analysis:
Well our Hero went to Zero this month but Lee still maintains his lead
in the AOY Race with 8 tournaments in the books and 4 more to go.
Lee still has a commanding lead of 23 points but he can't
afford to skunk anymore if he wants to remain on top.
Since Buddy didn't fish this time he drops down a couple of spots from
2nd last month to 4th this month. That left the door open and
Jere Jaillite took advantage of it to jump up from 3rd last month to
2nd this month.
Jeff Weaver also jumps up one spot the claim 3rd just 14 points behind
Jere.
One point behind Jeff is Buddy claiming 4th.
In 5th again this month is Mack Cramer now only 4 points behind.
Since Dave Bock was also absent from the tournament he slides down and
out of the way for Brian Nall to jump up and claim the 6th place spot.
Our only Co-Angler in the Top Six.
So
here's the point spread of the Top Six:
1st - Lee Brannon - 151 pts
2nd - Jere Jaillite - 128 pts
3rd - Jeff Weaver - 114 pts
4th - Buddy Yates - 113 pts
5th - Mack Cramer - 109 pts
6th - Brian Nall - 100 pts
7th - Dave Nason - 94 pts
Great job to the Top Six!
CO-AOY Analysis:
On the Co-Angler side of things we still have Brian Nall leading the
pack with 100 points followed closely by Dave Nason with 94 points.
Jumping up to the Silver 3rd position is John Schaeff with 75
points.
Great Job guys!
