Minutes of the Meeting:

Ahoy! Th' February meetin' o' th' Pensacola Hawg Hunters was brought t' order at 7:00 P.M on Wednesday th' 20th o' February at Founaris Bros. Greek Restaurant by Jeff Weaver. We had 20 hands present 'n 2 guest present. Derek Head 'n Jimmy Oswalt.

Old Business

Jeff probalby started th' meetin' wit' a wee bit o' humor 'n o' course everyone had a good laugh about it.

Th' minutes o' last months meetin' were prolly waived once again by th' membership.  Why do we keep minutes anyway?  Seems our club runs on autopilot.  Must be 'cause we 'ave great leadership in ship.

Th' treasury report was read 'n also accepted.  Th' numbers sound like our investments are growin'.  Everyone can nah wait till th' October Fish Off Payday.

Th' Booray pot even got bigger since no one has caught a 6 pound plus fish.
See Buddy Yates fer details.

This month's 50/50 was won Anonymous.  'tis full blown Tax season so we be keepin' th' names out t' deter th' IRS.

New Business:

Ahoy!  Nothin' new this month.

From the Tournament Director:

Payouts fer th' January Tournament were handed out.
Congrats t' all those who received a paycheck.
Great job!

Th' draw fer th' February Tournament was conducted.

Drawn out were 8 boaters wit' 8 Co-Anglers includin' 2 guests fer th' high 'n muddy Tensaw River Tournament.

Meetin' was adjourned sometime afore 8:00pm.

February Tournament:

Th' February Tournament was held on th' high 'n muddy Tensaw River.  Accordin' t' Barry's Steamplant water guage 'twas jus' about 8.0 feet 'n risin'.  Expected t' rise even higher t' 11.8 feet by  Friday March 1.  two fathoms be considered Flood stage.  Th' water was in th' woods in most places we fished.  I reckon th' fish were too 'cause we had a hard time findin' them.  As a club we only caught 28 fish weighin' 40.95 pounds.  No one caught a limit.  We also had 4 hands who didn' weigh in a keeper fish wit' John Schaeff findin' th' weeest one.  A .72 dink.   Big Fish went t' Jere Jaillite wit' a 3.10 pound largemouth.

Th' weather was warm in th' low 70's wit' lots o' humidity t' go around.  Light fog as ye went up river.  Water temp was 65 on th' river t' as high as 68 in aft o' Mifflin.    Th' river was like glass wit' hardly any current flow t' speak o' in th' mornin'.  But, come weigh-in time we had pretty strong winds causin' rollers wit' wha' felt like 4 foot swells comin' from th' south.  Pockets o' hot 'n cold air too as we were runnin' t' th' weigh-in.

Jus' sit right back
'n ye'll hear a tale
A tale o' a fateful trip,
That started from this tropic port,
Aboard this wee ship.
Th' mate was a mighty sailin' lad,
Th' Skipper brave 'n sure,
Five passengers set sail that day,
Fer a three hour tour,
A three hour tour.

Th' weather started gettin' rough,
Th' wee ship was tossed.
If nah fer th' courage o' th' fearless crew
Th' Minnow would be lost.
Th' Minnow would be lost.

Th' ship set ground on th' shore
O' this uncharted desert isle
Wit' Gilligan,
Th' Skipper too.
Th' millionaire
'n his beauty,
Th' movie star,
Th' professor 'n Mary Ann,
Here on Gilligan's Isle.

Ye've been Hacked by Pirates!!!

Tournament Results:

1st Place
Jere Jaillite

Jere jumps up from 4th last month t' winnin' th' tournament this month.  He brought 4 fish t' th' scales that totaled 7.99 pounds.  Nigh-on a 2 pound average.  Jere went south t' find them 'n caught his big fish early.

Great job!

Congrats Jere!

2nd Place
Mack Cramer

Mack finds hisself in 2nd galleon again this season wit' 4 tournaments fished.  He also brought in 4 fish wit' his weighin' 5.41 pounds.
Mack also went south 'n said 'twas one Davy Jones' locker o' a ride comin' back wit' th' wind 'n rollers.

Great Job!

3rd Place
John Buck

John finishes 3rd ship again this month!  3 fish fer third ship.  John's fish pictured above weighed 4.84 pounds.  Th' one on his left or ye right as ye be lookin' at 'im was second big fish o' th' tournament.  It weighed 2.82 pounds.  Nice "Dave Bock look" thar John!   I be nah sure which way John went but we be thankful fer holdin' back his son John Russell this tournament so we can try 'n catch up.  John Russell dropped all th' way down t' finish 10th this tournament.

4th Place
Kevin Simmons

Kevin also supportin' th' "Dave Bock look" shows us his 3 fish that tipped th' scales at 4.65 pounds.   Kevin scored a payday last month 'n does it again this month.

Great Job!

Congratulations Kevin!

AOY Analysis:

We be now one quarter o' th' way through th' season wit' lots o' fishin' still t' go!  Hopefully th' quality o' fishin' will get better as our first four tournaments 'ave been lackin' on th' numbers 'n weights side o' thin's.  Goin' back a decade 'tis our worst year so far aft 4 tournaments.

2019 - 111 fish - 139.60 lbs
2018 - 277 fish - 461.53 lbs
2017 - 200 fish - 291.91 lbs
2016 - 135 fish - 186.02 lbs
2015 - 140 fish - 200.43 lbs
2014 - 114 fish - 152.60 lbs
2013 - 168 fish - 218.50 lbs
2012 - 225 fish - 302.72 lbs
2011 - 196 fish - 277.36 lbs
2010 - 141 fish - 182.84 lbs

Davy Jones' locker last year February we went t' Lake Seminole 'n in one tournament did better than we 'ave all this season.

Lake Seminole - Feb 2018- 119 fish - 236.11 pounds

Well on t' th' Top Six.  Even thought th' fishin' has been crappy we still 'ave managed t' collect points fer th' various places we've finished.

1st ship - John Russell Buck - 71 pts
2nd ship - Jeff Weaver - 65 pts
3rd ship - John Buck - 61 pts
4th ship - Mack Cramer - 57 pts
5th ship - Kevin Simmons - 56 pts
6th ship - Lee Brannon - 50 pts
7th ship - Jere Jaillite - 47 pts

A couple o' changes from last month.   Lee who didn' fish this month drops from 3rd t' 6th.  John jumps up one 'n Mack jumps o'er Kevin.
John Russell's 11 point lead last month dimishes t' jus' 6 this month.

Great job t' th' Top Six!

CO-AOY Analysis:

John Russell  continues t' be on a tear t' get this trophy in th' books.  His lead this month increases t' 30 points ahead o' Dave Hall whose still sittin' in second galleon.  Behind Dave be another Dave.  Dave Nason sits 3rd galleon wit' jus' 27 points.

This month our Co-Anglers didn' do t' well.  Looks like th'  Boaters had a grand time this month. Nah only showin' off thar great drivin' skills durin' th' rough water conditions but they also out fished thar Co-anglers. Well except fer Wes our new boater who actually got his galleon t' th' tournament this month.
He got out fished by John Schaeff!
