This is a multi-rule change that must be voted on as a package.

Tournament Rules

Current Rule:

Weigh-in is announced by the tournament director prior to the start of each tournament; any member arriving back at the dock after the official weigh-in time is automatically disqualified from that days weigh-in.

Proposed Change:

Weigh-in time is announced by the tournament director prior to the start of each tournament. Any Unless providing assistance to another boater in distress, a member arriving back at the dock after the official weigh-in time is automatically disqualified from that will not be allowed to participate in that days weigh-in, but will receive credit for fishing and tournament points for that day.

(Amendment:)

A boater providing assistance to another boater in distress must arrive back at the dock prior to the scales closing, in order to have their fish weighed, or they will forfeit that days catch.

Current Rule:

A participant is considered ON TIME for the weigh-in if he or his boating partner is on the dock and attempting to retrieve the boat for the weigh-in. If the boater is giving assistance to another boater in distress the boater giving assistance will NOT be considered late for the weigh-in.

Proposed Change:

A participant is considered ON TIME for the weigh-in if he or his boating partner is on the dock and attempting to retrieve the boat for the weigh-in. If the boater is giving assistance to another boater in distress the boater giving assistance will NOT be considered late for the weigh-in.

Rationale

It is not fair for a boater, and/or non-boating partner, to lose credit for fishing the tournament just because they are late for the weigh in, or not at the weigh in.
